According to the WHO, COVIDS is an extensive family of viruses that can cause disease in animals and humans.

We’ll discuss below what is COVID 19 symptoms like as well as preventions.

What is the COVID 19 and how can we prevent it?

COVID-19 is the most recently discovered infectious disease caused by coronavirus, which emerged in Wuhan, China.

These are the prevention measures recommended by the World Health Organization for the new coronavirus outbreak:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use 70% alcohol-based gel
  • When coughing or sneezing, use the label sneeze, which involves covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or the inside corner of your arm
  • Do not touch your face, nose, mouth, and eyes with dirty hands
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects of common use in houses, offices, closed places, transport, meeting centers, etc
  • Stay home when you have respiratory ailments and go to the doctor if there is suspicion

The WHO recommends that a minimum distance of one meter be maintained between anyone who coughs or sneezes.

When did it start?

On January 28, the first two cases of contagion between humans outside of Chinese territory are reported, one in Germany and the other in Japan, in people who did not travel to China.

So, what is COVID 19 Symptoms like?

The new 2019 coronavirus is a particular strain of coronavirus that had not previously been identified in humans; however, authorities have identified the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Pneumonia
  • Muscle pain
  • Gastric problems
  • Diarrhea
  • General discomfort

It is recommended to immediately go to the doctor to present symptoms if you have traveled to China recently or have been in contact with any confirmed patient with coronavirus.

Some patients may experience pain, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea.

Most people, about 80%, recover from the disease without the need for any special treatment.

Can animals get the coronavirus?

There is no data to indicate that companion animals or pets such as cats and dogs can get infected and spread the coronavirus.

However, keep them close to you and make sure they don’t get out. Just to be safe.

Who are the most vulnerable according to the WHO?

Older people and those with underlying medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart problems, or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. About 2% of people who have contracted the disease have died.

About 1 in 6 people who get COVID-19 develop a serious illness and have trouble breathing.
