Have you ever heard of cheese tea? We will show you how to make this drink at home with very few simple steps so that you can enjoy it to the fullest.

This exotic beverage comes with several health benefits. It originated in Taiwan, where it can be found in almost every market.

However, in Western countries, it is much less common. For this reason, we will teach you how to make it at home for your enjoyment.

Before we go on, it should be noted that infusions are very suitable in the context of a healthy diet.

They usually have antioxidant phytonutrients capable of neutralizing the production of free radicals, thus preventing their accumulation in the tissues.

What exactly is cheese tea?

As mentioned before, this beverage can be made with black, green, or matcha tea and has whipped cream cheese as its main ingredient.

It has its origin in Asian countries and stands out for its texture and flavor. In addition, its nutritional density is quite high.

As it contains cheese, it concentrates proteins of high biological value. These nutrients have proven essential to ensure proper muscle function, allowing tissue repair and promoting recovery after a day of intense work or physical activity.

On the other hand, tea is well known for its strong antioxidant activity. In fact, regular consumption can help prevent the development of chronic and complex pathologies, according to a study published in the journal Nutrients.

In parallel, tea catechins can stimulate the oxidation and mobilization of fats, promoting weight loss.

It can be included in the context of a healthy diet to improve body composition. This is evidenced by research published in the journal Molecules.

The Cheese

As we said before, cheese provides high biological value proteins, so its inclusion is recommended in the diet.

To prepare this trendy beverage, it will be necessary to have the following ingredients:

  • Salt, sugar, and ice
  • 100 ml of whipping cream
  • Black, green or matcha tea
  • 20 gms of cream cheese
  • 50 ml of whole milk

Step by step:

Start by brewing the selected infusion. To do this, check the optimum temperature at which the chosen tea is prepared, heat the water to that point, introduce the tea bag, and cover to let it steep for a few minutes.

When the process is ready, sweeten to taste and let it cool.

In another container, introduce the cream cheese, whipped cream, milk, and a little salt.

Stir everything with the help of a whisk until a homogeneous but dense texture is obtained. It must be as creamy as possible.

The optimum whipping of the cream will be decisive.

For the cheese tea, add crushed ice at the bottom of the glass, cover with the chosen tea and add 2 or 3 heaped tablespoons of cream cheese on top. It is important to serve it chilled.

What can it be served with?

Choosing a good accompaniment for a tea is key when the goal is to enjoy this drink. One option is nuts, since they have a high nutritional density and are classified as healthy foods.

It is best to choose them raw or roasted. Fried varieties are not a good alternative.

On the other hand, some prefer to accompany cheese tea with pastries or sandwiches.

This is not a good choice for everyday use but can be done occasionally. However, it should be noted that this type of food usually contains large amounts of trans fats and added sugars.

If you want to give it a healthy touch, you can always make crudités with guacamole or hummus. Homemade nachos is another good one. This is a more suitable alternative to accompany cheese tea.

Serve chilled and enjoy!

Beware: it will cause furor when consumed. This combination unleashes passions due to its fantastic flavor.

For this reason, it is spreading rapidly in Western countries. In addition, it has the advantage of being prepared at home very easily, so it is not necessary to go to an establishment to taste it.

However, note that this tea variety has a high caloric density. This is due to the presence of whipped cream and cream cheese. For this reason, it should be consumed in moderation.

Keep in mind that to ensure a healthy lifestyle, an improved diet is not enough. Physical activity is also essential. This is the perfect way to achieve a better and healthier body composition.

Cheese tea side effects

The only side effects come from the caffeine if drinking black or green tea and the sugar and dairy content.

Dairy only affects those who are lactose intolerant.

Sugar, in regulated amounts, generally does not have a major effect on the body. The amount of sugar in one serving is less than that found in a typical dessert.
